Research Integrity and Misconduct Policy

LJLS is committed to preserving the reliability, accuracy, and trustworthiness of the published scholarly record.

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Fabrication of research data or results.
  • Falsification or inappropriate manipulation of data.
  • Plagiarism and inappropriate text reuse.
  • Misleading image manipulation.
  • Duplicate or redundant publication.
  • Inappropriate authorship practices.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest.
  • Misrepresentation of research methods, findings, or ethical approvals.

Suspected misconduct may be identified before or after publication. Allegations are assessed impartially and confidentially, and the individuals concerned are given an appropriate opportunity to respond.

Where necessary, LJLS may request original data, supporting documents, ethical approval records, or clarification from the relevant institution or research organisation.

Depending on the nature and seriousness of the concern, editorial action may include requesting clarification, rejecting a manuscript, publishing a correction, issuing an expression of concern, or retracting a published article.

All actions are taken to protect the integrity of the scholarly record and are guided by recognised publication ethics standards.
