Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

The Libyan Journal of Life Sciences (LJLS) is committed to preserving its published scholarly content and ensuring long-term accessibility through appropriate digital archiving practices.

Electronic Archiving

The journal maintains an electronic archive of its published articles, issues, and associated metadata through its online journal management system.

Digital Preservation

The LJLS participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a digital preservation service developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) to support the long-term preservation of scholarly content published through Open Journal Systems (OJS).

This service helps safeguard the journal’s published content and supports its continued availability in the event of technical failure or disruption.

Backup and Data Protection

The journal aims to protect its digital content through appropriate backup procedures and measures to reduce the risk of data loss, damage, or unauthorised access.

Continued Access

As an open-access journal, LJLS provides free access to its published articles. Published content remains part of the journal’s scholarly record, and corrections or retractions are maintained with clear status information.

Metadata Preservation

The journal maintains article metadata, including titles, authors, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, and publication details, and supports the use of DOI and ORCID identifiers where applicable.

The journal periodically reviews this policy to strengthen its digital preservation practices and maintain the long-term accessibility and integrity of its published scholarly record.
