Complaints and Appeals Policy

LJLS is committed to addressing complaints and appeals fairly, transparently, and independently.

Authors may appeal an editorial decision if they believe that it resulted from a significant factual error, a misunderstanding of the research, or an inappropriate evaluation of the manuscript.

Complaints may concern editorial procedures, peer review, publication ethics, reviewer conduct, or other aspects of the journal’s publishing practices.

All complaints and appeals must be submitted in writing to the journal’s editorial office through its official contact email. Submissions should include the manuscript reference number, a clear description of the concern, relevant supporting evidence, and the action being requested.

Complaints and appeals are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or, where appropriate, an independent editor or adviser who was not involved in the original matter.

The journal aims to acknowledge complaints within five working days and provide a substantive response within 30 working days, where practicable. Complex cases requiring further investigation may take longer, and the complainant will be informed of any significant delay.

All matters are handled confidentially and without prejudice to the individuals involved. Editorial decisions are reconsidered only where sufficient grounds and supporting evidence are provided.
