Copyright Policy

1. Authors Retain Copyright

The Medical Technology Journal of Applied Science (MTJAS) operates under the principle that authors should retain full and unrestricted copyright to their work. This policy is a fundamental aspect of our commitment to open-access publishing. When a manuscript is accepted and published in MTJAS, the authors retain the copyright to their article.

2. Creative Commons License

While authors retain copyright, all articles published in MTJAS are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This license is a modern, open-access standard that allows for the widest possible dissemination and use of scholarly content. By submitting their work to MTJAS, authors agree to have their articles published under this license.

The CC BY 4.0 license allows others to:

  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material.

The only condition is that proper attribution must be given to the original authors and the source of publication, and a link to the license must be provided.

3. Rights of Authors

Authors publishing with MTJAS have the following rights:

  • The right to post the final, published PDF version of their article on their personal or institutional website, blog, or in an institutional repository immediately upon publication.

  • The right to reuse and distribute their work in presentations, teaching materials, and future scholarly publications, provided proper citation to the original MTJAS publication is included.

  • The right to grant permission for re-publication and translation of their article.

4. Rights of Readers and Users

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, readers and users are granted extensive rights to access and use the published content:

  • Free Access: The content is available for free, with no paywalls or subscription fees.

  • Unrestricted Use: Content can be used for any purpose, including commercial uses, as long as proper attribution is given.

  • Data Mining: The license permits the use of the content for text and data mining purposes.

5. Attribution Requirement

Anyone using or adapting an article from MTJAS must provide appropriate credit to the authors and the journal. This includes:

  • Citing the original article with the author names, article title, journal title, year, volume, and page numbers.

  • Indicating if changes were made to the original work.

  • Providing a link to the Creative Commons license.
